PROJECTS:
Ukraine
May 2024: The war in Ukraine continues and with it complex injuries to civilians and frontline protectors. Tourniquets, also known as CATs, are a crucial life and limb saving immediate tool to STOP THE BLEED and Ukraine needs thousands.
According to the PROTEZ FOUNDATION (a Ukrainian prosthetic company based in Minnesota and Ukraine), there are more than 59,000 Ukrainians in need of prosthetics as a result of the war. Many of these are children. It is a life-long disability.
Tourniquets give the chance to stop the bleed and save a limb.
Our goal is to purchase 3,000 CATs. Please consider supporting this campaign. Your contribution may be the one that saves a life and limb.
Recently HOG has found a source to purchase the CATs of similar quality in the Ukraine. By shifting where we source the CATS we:
- stretch the dollar by saving on the price of the tourniquet ($15 each versus $24 in the USA)
- eliminate the transportation costs
- money is spent in Ukraine thereby helping their economy.
PLEASE donate and support this cause:
- Write a check to HANDS ON GLOBAL with “Stop the Bleed” in the memo line.
Mail to: Hands On Global, 5210 Kerr Drive, Helena, Montana 59602
Add your email to receive a tax deductible receipt. - Donate directly to HANDS ON GLOBAL (www.handsonglobal.org) PAYPAL:
Please extend your compassion to Ukrainians by providing them with these crucial tourniquets. Your support will signify solidarity from the USA.
Hands on Global Continues Work in Ukraine, May 2024
HOG teams were first called to Ukraine in March 2022. Working with the Ministry of Health of Western Ukraine we provided primary medical care and medication to the IDP’s (internally displaced people) in Ukraine for six months. Our support continues with teams returning to Ukraine to deliver critical trauma supplies, medications and complex orthopedic equipment to hospitals and front line medics.
Hands on Global collaborates with SIGN INTERNATIONAL FX CARE to bring these orthopedic supplies that are limb saving.
We are committed to supporting medical needs in Ukraine and will continue to source and deliver these needed supplies.
Thank you for supporting Hands On Global’s humanitarian work. There is so much need at times it feels overwhelming. Our team is small but one of action and with your help we continue to work “hand to hand and heart to heart”.
Thank you,
Valerie Hellermann, Executive Director
