A day off. We went over to the burned out Moria camp. WOW – what a catastrophic fire. Everything burned, iso boxes melted, fire hoses melted. It is eerie walking around this camp that was so crowded with people and tents all over. Thinking of the 24,000 refugees who lived there. It must have been terrifying.
We got stopped by the police when returning. Apparently during covid lockdown you can only have 2 people in a car, unless you are related. Interesting, and strict, as Greece has a low number of covid patients.
Wondering about covid here. There is definitely covid in the camp. There are maybe 150 in covid isolation but nobody is really too sick. We are wondering if it is a different strain. So far only 1 refugee has died from covid.
